They say you have to take a risk in order to receive a big reward, right? A 40% chance of rain in Colorado is a pretty big risk to take when planning on an engagement shoot. That 40% can easily turn into a lightening storm, tornado, 50 mph wind gusts, and hail. Anyone who has been in Colorado in the past 2 weeks knows exactly what I’m talking about!
So when Beckie called me yesterday morning to see if we were still on for our evening photo shoot, I calmly said “oh yeah, I’m counting on it!” But really I was thinking “Alright God, you and I are going to have a serious conversation if Beckie, Eric and I get stuck in the middle of a torrential downpour, I’m gettin’ a little tired of this crazy weather of yours…”
As luck would have it, we did get stuck in a torrential downpour. But we were also rewarded with some of the most beautiful storm clouds as a backdrop for pictures that I have ever seen. And true to Colorado, the storm literally lasted for maybe 3 minutes and then we were in the clear. I think our reward was bigger than the risk.
I’m soooo insanely excited for Beckie and Eric’s wedding this fall. If the fun we had last night is any indication of how fun their wedding is going to be, then I’m in for a real treat! Their laughter, chemistry, love, and all around lighthearted nature were so much fun to observe.
A few favorites….

See what I mean about the beautiful storm clouds?
