You ever hear people talk about the “perfect storm”? It’s basically a thing a bunch of weather nerds came up with to explain how a bunch of different individual weather conditions all add up to make one monster of a storm. It all has to do with the temperature of the ocean, the pressure in the atmosphere, wind currents etc. etc.
Well, I kind of like to think of Nolan and Shelby’s wedding day as the “perfect storm” of weddings.
The details were amazing. The weather was heavenly. The bridal party was really fun. Nolan and Shelby’s families were so kind. The venue was breathtaking. The day ran according to schedule (almost down to the very minute!). The cake was divine (mmmm, especially the red velvet! Although the carrot cake was delightful as well. Yes, I had two pieces of cake. Don’t judge.) The music was fantastic. All these little ingredients added to make one heck of a great wedding.
Shelby and Nolan were married at the Black Forest Bed & Breakfast in Black Forest, CO. The Black Forest B&B is such a perfect venue for a Colorado wedding! With Pike’s Peak in the background and blue skies above them, Shelby and Nolan promised to love and serve each other for the rest of their lives and sealed it with a kiss.
Nolan and Shelby, I was truly touched by just about every aspect of your wedding day. From the way you two look at each other to how appreciative and kind your families were towards me. Everywhere I looked, I saw people who care deeply about you two and I’m honored to have been able to document such an incredible day. Nolan, thank you so much for serving our country, I pray that you return quickly and safely from your upcoming deployment. I wish you guys nothing but the best in your new life together! Blessings!
A few of my favorites….

Nolan, as he sees Shelby for the first time coming down the aisle
Can you spot Pike’s Peak in the distance?

The entire bridal party gathered around Shelby and Nolan to pray over them. I loooove this!

I really want to know the story behind this! I thought it was so cute how their names were carved in the wood.

The boys played a little game called “who can hit who hardest with the tether ball”
During Shelby’s dad’s toast

Shelby and Nolan had some of the craziest dancers I’ve seen at a wedding so far, they were awesome!
I have to end this post with a pictures of one of my favorite guests. I named him Llama Llama (creative right?)
